A delegation of the Pakistan Footwear Manufacturers Association (PFMA), led by Mr. S.M. Tanveer, met with the Minister of State for Finance and Revenue, Mr. Bilal Azhar Kayani, at the Finance Division to discuss issues relating to the industrial sector and the broader economic policy framework.
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted the economic contribution of the footwear industry, particularly its role in manufacturing, exports, employment generation, and tax compliance. The representatives also shared their views on the Federal Budget 2026-27 with a focus on supporting industrial growth, enhancing competitiveness, and facilitating business activity.
The Minister acknowledged the contribution of the manufacturing sector to economic growth, exports, and employment. He appreciated the constructive input provided by the delegation and assured them that their proposals and recommendations would be given due consideration. He also reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to maintaining a conducive business environment and fostering constructive engagement with industry stakeholders.
Both sides underscored the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation to support economic stability, industrial competitiveness, and sustainable growth, while ensuring that fiscal policies effectively serve national development objectives.
