Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani has extended heartfelt greetings to the entire Muslim Ummah on the blessed and joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
He said that Eid-ul-Adha is a magnificent example and enduring remembrance of the obedience of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and the submission of Hazrat Ismail (AS), which established an everlasting tradition of sacrifice and devotion that will continue to inspire humanity until the Day of Judgment. He added that the spirit of sacrifice carries universal significance, and no nation can truly progress unless it possesses the values of selflessness and sacrifice.
In his message, Chairman Senate said that Eid-ul-Adha teaches us that true success lies in sacrificing personal desires and interests for the pleasure of Almighty Allah. He emphasized that all segments of society must set aside personal interests, priorities, and prejudices, and work collectively for the progress, prosperity, and welfare of the country and the nation. He stated that the time has come to rise above political affiliations and adopt a unified course of action for national development and stability. He remarked that Pakistan came into existence through unparalleled sacrifices, immense patience, and steadfastness, and it is the collective responsibility of all citizens to work together for its prosperity.
Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani further said that while celebrating the joys of Eid-ul-Adha, special attention should be paid to those brothers and sisters who have fallen behind economically due to difficult circumstances. He urged the people to remain mindful of their surroundings so that no neighbor is deprived of the blessings and happiness of this sacred occasion. He also paid tribute to the architects, martyrs, and defenders of the homeland who sacrificed their lives for the protection, development, and dignity of the country.
On the occasion of Eid, the Chairman Senate appealed to Muslims around the world to offer special prayers for global peace and harmony, particularly for the oppressed people of Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He prayed that Almighty Allah may ease their sufferings and grant them relief. He further prayed that Allah Almighty may bless the Muslim Ummah with the true spirit and happiness of Eid-ul-Adha, accept their sacrifices, and grant them the ability to understand and practice this great prayers in its true essence.
