The Supreme Court of Pakistan remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting fundamental rights and personal liberty, which constitute the cornerstone of the justice system. In this regard, the Court accords the highest priority to cases involving bail before arrest and post-arrest bail, ensuring their prompt hearing and disposal.
These matters are being fixed and heard strictly in accordance with the fixation policy issued by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, with a view to ensuring timely adjudication and safeguarding the constitutional rights of litigants.
At present, there are no unfixed cases relating to bail before arrest or post-arrest bail at the Principal Seat of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Islamabad. During the last two weeks, 226 cases relating to bail before arrest and post-arrest bail were fixed for hearing before the Court.
It is further noteworthy that 109 bail matters were fixed before the Bench headed by Hon’ble Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan with effect from 11-05-25, reflecting the Court’s continued emphasis on the expeditious disposal of liberty-related cases.
