Inauguration of a Photographic Exhibition on Pakistan at Buzau County Museum of Romania Bucharest: May 24, 2026

The Embassy of Pakistan, Bucharest organized a photographic exhibition titled, “Pakistan: Pages of a Story” at the Buzau County Museum of Romania. The exhibition was inaugurated, yesterday(23 May), on the occasion of the “European Night of Museums”. It will continue for the next four weeks.

The exhibition features various photographs, depicting the splendid architecture, beautiful landscape, exciting festivals, and some eye-catching individuals of Pakistan.

As the exhibition coincides with the 500thanniversary of the establishment of Mughal Empire in South Asia, a significant chunk of the pictures focuses the Mughal-era buildings including Badshahi Mosque, Shalimar Garden, Wazir Khan Mosque, Mausoleum of Emperor Jahangir, Hiran Minar and Chauburji.

An avid photographer from Lahore, Mr. Yasir Nisar, has contributed half of the displayed pictures. The exhibition also includes the work of 18 students of photography, belonging to the Institute of Communication Studies, University of the Punjab, and School of Creative Arts, University of Lahore, provided by their trainer of Visual Journalism and a seasoned photographer, Agha Rizwan Ali. The list of these students includes Ms. Mahnoor Ashraf Watoo, Ms. Malaika Rauf, Mr. Afan Asad, Mr. Muhammad Hassan, Ms. Noreen Asim, Mr. Agha Fahad Ali, Mr. Arman Nadeem, Ms. Tehreem Fatima, Ms. Shaneela, Mr. Toqeer Nasir, Mr. Asad Ali, Ms. Zoha Ishtiaq, Mr. Muhammad Ahmad, Ms. Ume Habiba, Mr. Momin Ali, Ms. Mehreen Fareed, Ms. Laiba Umer, and Mr. Ahmad Jamil.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Ambassador of Pakistan to Romania, Ilyas Mehood Nizami, and General Manager, Buzau County Museum, Mr. Daniel Bolocan.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Ambassador Ilyas Nizami threw light on the key features of the displayed pictures. He paid rich tribute to the Mughal Kings and Emperors, who left indelible marks on administration, culture, architecture, art and cuisine of South Asia. He thanked all the contributing photographers as well as the management of the Buzau County Museum for their cooperation in successfullyorganizing the exhibition. He stated that cultural exchanges and people-to-people contacts constitute an important facet of Pakistan-Romania relations. He further stated that the exhibition is yet another step towardsadvancement of friendship between Pakistan and Romania through culture, heritage and human experience.

The exhibition was seen by the hundreds of people on its first day, and is expected to attract a large number of visitors during the coming weeks.
