The Supreme Court of Pakistan today reaffirmed its commitment to transparency in public expenditure, integrity in procurement processes, and institutional quality management through specialized in-house training programmes conducted on the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) Rules and Standardization & Quality Management Systems (S&QMS).
A ceremony held at the Supreme Court of Pakistan at the conclusion of in-house training sessions, was attended by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan, the Registrar, Supreme Court of Pakistan; Managing Director, Public Procurement Regulatory Authority; the Director General (Reforms), Supreme Court of Pakistan; the Secretary, Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan, S&QMS consultants; and officers and officials of the Court.
Addressing the participants, the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan observed that transparent procurement practices, standardized administrative systems, and robust quality management mechanisms are essential for ensuring institutional integrity, accountability, and efficient utilization of public resources. He emphasized that modern judicial institutions must adopt internationally recognized governance and management standards to strengthen public trust and improve service delivery.
It was affirmed that the ongoing reform agenda of the Supreme Court is focused on strengthening institutional systems through transparency, digitization, process standardization, performance optimization, and professionalization of administrative and judicial functions. His Lordship observed that effective financial governance and rule-based procurement mechanisms are indispensable components of a credible and citizen-centric justice sector.
Appreciating the support extended by Public Procurement Regulatory Authority, and the S&QMS consultants, the Hon’ble Chief Justice emphasized that there is need to replicate such capacity-building initiatives across the High Courts and district judiciary in order to promote uniform standards of governance, strengthen transparency in administrative practices, and enhance institutional performance throughout the justice sector.
During the ceremony, certificates were distributed among officers and officials who successfully completed the specialized training programmes.
