A high-level delegation from the Republic of Azerbaijan, led by H.E. Mr. Farid Ahmadov, Minister for Justice, called on Hon’ble the Chief Justice of Pakistan at the Supreme Court of Pakistan, today.
The visiting delegation comprised Mr. Adil Abilov, Director General, Department for International Cooperation, Ministry of Justice, Republic of Azerbaijan and Mr. Samir Ahmedali, First Secretary, Embassy of Azerbaijan in Islamabad. Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Federal Minister for Law and Justice also accompanied the visiting delegation during the meeting.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest relating to judicial cooperation, rule of law, institutional reforms, and strengthening bilateral collaboration in the justice sector were discussed in detail. Both sides exchanged views on judicial education, digital transformation of courts, alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, and sharing of best practices in judicial administration.
The Chief Justice also shared ongoing reform initiatives being undertaken within Pakistan’s justice sector, particularly in the areas of technology integration, judicial capacity building, legal empowerment, and improving service delivery within courts.
H.E. Mr. Farid Ahmadov appreciated the pivotal role of the judiciary of Pakistan in upholding the rule of law and expressed keen interest in enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of judicial training, legal research, and institutional development. The Azerbaijani delegation also acknowledged Pakistan’s continued support for strengthening bilateral ties and regional cooperation.
The meeting concluded with exchange of souvenirs and a reaffirmation of mutual commitment to further deepen collaboration between Pakistan and Azerbaijan in the field of law and justice through structured engagement, exchange programmes, and institutional partnerships.
