The City Council of Mississauga, Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, organized the “Haroon Khan Trail Dedication Ceremony” at Tillsdown Park. The momentous unveiling of the “Haroon Khan Trail” signage was aimed at honouring the lifelong service of Pakistani-Canadian social worker and senior citizen Haroon Khan.

The ceremony drew a distinguished gathering, including Honorable MPs Iqra Khalid, Rechie Valdez and Peter Fonseca, MPP Nina Tangri, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Canada, Muhammad Saleem, Consul General Khalil Ahmed Bajwa, Mayor of Mississauga, City Councillors and community members.

High Commissioner Saleem thanked the local authorities for the befitting recognition of Haroon Khan’s contribution to social work and humanitarian causes in Canada, Pakistan and elsewhere. He said that the special gesture embodied the collective spirit and healthy contribution of the Pakistani-Canadian Community. He urged the diaspora to follow Haroon Khan’s enduring legacy in civic devotion as it immensely contributes to strengthening Pakistan-Canada relations.
