Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) and the Pakistan Olympic Association have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to strengthen youth development through sports, Olympic education, and the promotion of Olympic values across Pakistan.
The (LoI) reflects a shared commitment to empowering Pakistani youth through structured sports initiatives, fostering leadership qualities, promoting inclusion, and advancing the principles of the Olympic Movement in line with the Olympic Charter.
The collaboration aims to promote youth engagement from grassroots to elite sport, establish pathways for talent identification and progression, and support structured programmes on Olympic Education, integrity, Safe Sport, ethical conduct, and prevention of competition manipulation.
A key focus of the partnership is the advancement and leadership of women in sport, through inclusive programming and awareness initiatives aligned with Olympic values of Excellence, Respect, and Friendship.
Under the agreed framework, NOC Pakistan will provide technical expertise and programme design support, while PMYP will facilitate youth outreach and engagement through its digital and institutional networks.
Both parties may establish a Joint Steering Committee to guide annual action plans, monitor progress, and ensure effective coordination for nationwide initiatives such as Olympic Day celebrations, youth festivals, and sports awareness campaigns.
The LoI will remain valid for a period of four years, with the possibility of extension through mutual agreement. It does not create financial obligations on either party, and all initiatives will be executed through mutually agreed annual plans.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Mr. Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, stated:
"Sports is not merely a recreational activity—it is a powerful tool for nation-building, character development, discipline, and leadership. Through this partnership with the Pakistan Olympic Association, PMYP is committed to ensuring that every young Pakistani, including girls and women, has access to structured sports opportunities and Olympic education. This LoI with the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme is a strategic initiative to integrate Olympic education and sports culture within youth development platforms. It will enable us to strengthen the Olympic movement in Pakistan and inspire the next generation of athletes and leaders."
He further added:
"We look forward to working closely with PMYP to ensure safe sport practices, integrity in competition, and greater inclusion—particularly for women—so that Pakistan can progress confidently in national and international sports arenas."
