Minister of State for Finance, Mr. Bilal Azhar Kayani, visited the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) Karachi today and held a meeting with its leadership and members as part of the government’s ongoing consultations for the Federal Budget 2026–27.
During the interaction, the discussion focused on the overall economic outlook, the upcoming budget, and the government’s efforts to promote business activity, improve the investment climate, and broaden the tax base. Representatives of OICCI shared a range of proposals and recommendations, reflecting the perspective of foreign investors operating in Pakistan, particularly on tax policy, ease of doing business, and measures to support sustainable economic growth.
The Minister of State appreciated the constructive input from OICCI and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to an inclusive and consultative budget-making process. He assured the participants that their proposals would be given due consideration in the formulation of the upcoming budget, while emphasising the importance of continued engagement with stakeholders to strengthen the business environment and support investment-led growth.
