Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan appreciated the RCCI delegation’s proactive engagement with U.S. stakeholders and termed such initiatives as vital for strengthening Pakistan’s economic diplomacy. He emphasized that chambers play a key role in identifying business opportunities, building international linkages, and supporting the government’s efforts to enhance exports and attract investment. The Minister reiterated that Pakistan is committed to promoting structured, business-focused cooperation with the United States to achieve sustainable trade growth and industrial development.
During the meeting, the RCCI delegation shared key outcomes of its engagements with U.S. lawmakers, business leaders, chambers of commerce, and economic development institutions. The delegation informed the Minister that the visit generated strong interest in expanding Pakistan-U.S. commercial ties, particularly in sectors such as steel, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, minerals, mining, and technology.
The delegation briefed the Minister on its interactions on Capitol Hill, where discussions centered on strengthening bilateral trade relations and improving Pakistan’s investment outlook. It was noted that American stakeholders expressed interest in deeper economic engagement and highlighted the importance of policy consistency and investor facilitation.
The RCCI representatives also highlighted meetings with the New York City Economic Development Corporation, the New York Chamber of Commerce, and business representatives in New Jersey, where positive responses were received regarding partnerships with Pakistan’s private sector. The growing role of the Pakistani diaspora, especially in the technology sector, was identified as a strong bridge for promoting Pakistan’s business potential in the U.S.
According to the presentation, the U.S. side showed openness toward state-level and sector-specific cooperation, which could pave the way for more practical and targeted economic partnerships. The delegation emphasized the need to focus not only on exports but also on investment, joint ventures, and long-term industrial collaboration.
The RCCI delegation reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the Ministry of Commerce to ensure effective follow-up and to convert the positive momentum from the U.S. visit into tangible economic outcomes for Pakistan.
