The High Commission participated in the “2026 Y Embassy Chef Showcase”, organized by the YMCA in Ottawa. The vibrant event brought together talented chefs from 15 participating diplomatic missions serving their respective national dishes in a spirit of friendly competition.
The High Commission showcased a rich array of traditional Pakistani cuisine, highlighting the country’s diverse culinary heritage. The participants appreciated the distinctive flavors, aromatic spices and cultural authenticity.
The famous annual Embassy Chef Showcase event provided the opportunity to promote cultural understanding through food as visitors experienced a wide variety of cuisines from around the world.
Speaking on the occasion, High Commissioner Muhammad Saleem emphasised that culinary diplomacy serves as an effective way of projecting the culture and strengthening people-to-people ties. The event contributed to the Mission’s ongoing cultural diplomacy and outreach efforts.
