Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, met with H.E. Mr. António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, on the sidelines of the launch of the Borrowers’ Platform in Washington, D.C., today.
The Finance Minister appreciated the participation of the UN Secretary-General in the launch event and thanked him for his support in the establishment of this important platform.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the global economic implications of the ongoing situation in the Middle East, particularly its impact on food and energy security in developing countries.
The UN Secretary-General lauded Pakistan’s role in facilitating peace and stability in the region and beyond, and expressed confidence in its continued constructive engagement on the global stage.
