Federal Minister for Communications Greets Sikh Community on Baisakhi; Announces Guru Nanak Motorway

Islamabad: April 14, 2026

Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, has extended warm greetings to the Hindu and Sikh communities on the occasion of Baisakhi. In his message, the Minister highlighted that Baisakhi symbolizes the harvest season, new beginnings, and the spirit of brotherhood.

On this auspicious occasion, the Minister emphasized the significance of the "Guru Nanak Motorway," describing it as a "Highway of Peace and Unity" connecting Nankana Sahib and Kartarpur. He stated that the Government of Pakistan has dedicated this project to Sikh pilgrims worldwide as a testament to religious harmony.

Abdul Aleem Khan further shared that the Ministry of Communications is committed to providing world-class travel facilities on the Guru Nanak Motorway. The project, including the development of hotels, malls, and service areas along the route, will be executed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. He invited the global Sikh community to participate as partners in this landmark project. The Minister concluded by asserting that making the journey of Sikh pilgrims easy and safe remains the government’s top priority
