General Levent Ergün, Vice Chief of the Turkish General Staff, called on Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Federal Minister for Defence, in Islamabad. During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, with particular focus on further strengthening defence and military cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye.

The Defence Minister warmly welcomed the visiting dignitary and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening the longstanding brotherly relations with Türkiye. He highlighted the importance Pakistan attaches to its strategic partnership with Türkiye and appreciated the growing collaboration in defence, training, and defence industry cooperation. Both dignitaries reaffirmed that Pakistan and Türkiye share a similar outlook on regional and global affairs and remain closely aligned in their diplomatic perspectives.

General Levent Ergün expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to the Turkish delegation and underscored Türkiye’s desire to further enhance bilateral defence ties and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Both sides expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of Pakistan–Türkiye relations and reiterated their resolve to continue close coordination and high-level engagements in the future.
