A ‘Pakistan–France Trade and Investment Forum’ was held in Paris, bringing together senior government officials, business leaders, industry experts, and representatives of trade bodies from both Pakistan and France.
The Forum was organized in implementation of the understanding reached in 2024 between Emmanuel Macron and Shehbaz Sharif to promote a strong and sustainable economic partnership between the two countries. The objective of the Forum was to connect businesses, exchange ideas, explore new avenues of bilateral cooperation, and showcase Pakistan’s trade and investment potential.
The event witnessed participation of over seventy French and Pakistani companies representing diverse sectors including agriculture, information technology, textiles, energy, and tourism—reflecting growing confidence in Pakistan as an emerging destination for trade and investment.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to France, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, inaugurated the Business Forum and highlighted Pakistan’s economic progress and its potential as an attractive trade partner. She outlined investor-friendly initiatives and institutional facilitation mechanisms aimed at promoting trade and investment. She encouraged businesses from both countries to explore collaborative opportunities, develop joint ventures, and build long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.
Prominent speakers from the French side, including Thierry Pflimlin, Chairman of the France–Pakistan Business Council at MEDEF International, Patricia Glasel, Vice President of the Conseillers du Commerce Extérieur de la France (CCEF), and Ardavan Amir-Aslani, highlighted the positive momentum in Pakistan–France economic relations. They underscored the significant opportunities for trade and investment with Pakistan and emphasized the importance of strengthening private-sector linkages to further enhance bilateral cooperation.
Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, conveyed his appreciation for the successful organization of the event. He termed the Forum a timely and strategic initiative that reflects Pakistan’s forward-looking trade vision and commitment to deepening economic engagement with France. He also appreciated the efforts of the Embassy of Pakistan in Paris and all stakeholders involved, noting that such platforms are essential for expanding Pakistan’s global trade footprint and facilitating international investors.
The plenary session was followed by breakout and Business-to-Business (B2B) sessions, where participants engaged in detailed discussions and identified concrete avenues for collaboration in key sectors including textiles, agriculture and dairy, and information technology.
The successful convening of the Forum marks an important step forward in strengthening Pakistan–France economic ties and advancing shared goals of trade, investment, and sustainable growth
