The Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives is set to host its flagship two-day event, Pakistan Governance Forum 2026, beginning today (February 25, 2026). Held under the theme “Reimagining Governance for URAAN Pakistan,” the Forum is the Ministry’s largest and most significant governance dialogue of the year.
The Forum will bring together over 100 eminent speakers including federal and provincial leaders, parliamentarians, senior civil servants, policy experts, development partners, academia, private sector representatives, and civil society along with more than 500 participants to deliberate on Pakistan’s governance reform agenda.
Structured around the 5Es of URAAN Pakistan Equity, Exports, Energy, Environment, and E-Pakistan, the event features 25 focused sessions aimed at driving actionable reforms and showcasing transformative initiatives across key sectors, including civil service reform, energy renewal, digital transformation, ICT governance, population planning, and institutional efficiency.
The Forum will be formally inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Shahbaz Sharif, while Chairman Senate Yusuf Raza Gilani and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will also grace the occasion. Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal will deliver both the opening and closing remarks on the first day.
Among the distinguished participants are Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti, Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Yar Muhammad, PM AJK Faisal Mumtaz Rathore and several Federal Ministers, senior officials and experts.
Representatives from leading international institutions and development partners will also participate.
The Forum aims to serve as a national platform to move from ideas to implementation, accelerating Pakistan’s governance transformation through inclusive dialogue and coordinated action.
