The Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety chaired a high-level meeting with Partner Financial Institutions (PFIs) and representatives of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to review preparedness and progress on the Prime Minister’s Ramazan Relief Package 2026 (PMRRP-2026).
The Federal Minister appreciated the proactive role and close coordination of PFIs and SBP in ensuring timely implementation of the relief package. Emphasizing urgency, he directed that account creation and activation for beneficiaries be carried out at full scale, with disbursement of funds accelerated over the coming days. He stressed the need for immediate mobilization of all remaining beneficiaries to ensure seamless account activation and onward crediting, in line with the Prime Minister’s directives.
Representatives of PFIs briefed the meeting on progress related to the creation of new accounts, activation of dormant accounts, and disbursement through cash and digital channels. Institutions including HBL, JazzCash, Easypaisa, Habib Bank, microfinance banks, and other PFIs shared updates on steps undertaken to complete PMRRP-2026 requirements and reaffirmed their commitment to enhanced participation and close coordination.
The SBP representative informed the meeting that ATM awareness flyers are being displayed across all PFIs to facilitate beneficiaries. To ensure uninterrupted and timely disbursements, the Federal Minister directed that requisite funds be transferred promptly for onward release to PFIs and instructed that daily progress updates be shared with the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety to ensure transparency, oversight, and real-time monitoring.
All directions issued during the meeting were approved by the Federal Minister for immediate implementation, reaffirming the government’s commitment to providing timely and dignified relief to beneficiaries during the holy month of Ramazan.
