Federal Minister for Water Resources Mian Muhammad Mueen Wattoo paid visit to the Bangladesh High Commission Islamabad on Wednesday, where he held a comprehensive meeting with the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Pakistan, Muhammad Iqbal Hussain Khan, to discuss bilateral relations and key regional developments.
The Federal Minister conveyed Pakistan’s heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on the peaceful and democratic transfer of power in Bangladesh. He reaffirmed Islamabad’s strong desire to further strengthen and expand ties with Dhaka in the spirit of mutual respect and cooperation.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, the prevailing regional situation, and potential avenues to enhance collaboration between the two countries.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Wattoo underscored that Pakistan attaches significant importance to its relationship with Bangladesh, describing the ties as rooted in shared faith, history, and cultural affinity. He expressed optimism that the longstanding friendship between the two nations would continue to grow and serve as a model of constructive regional engagement.
The Minister also highlighted the deep historical connections between Pakistan and Bangladesh and stressed the considerable potential to broaden cooperation, particularly in the fields of education, trade, and people-to-people exchanges.
High Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Hussain Khan noted that the people of Bangladesh remain committed to democracy and transparency. He emphasized that Bangladesh is focused on institutional reforms and sustainable national development, while seeking to strengthen partnerships with friendly countries, including Pakistan.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral engagement and exploring new avenues of partnership across multiple sectors to promote mutual prosperity and regional stability.
