His Excellency Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, called on the Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr. Musadik Malik, at his office in Islamabad.
During the meeting, the Ambassador expressed appreciation for the warmth and hospitality extended to His Excellency Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, and his delegation during their recent visit to Pakistan. He conveyed satisfaction over the growing brotherly relations between Pakistan and Kazakhstan. The Ambassador invited Dr. Musadik Malik to participate in the upcoming Regional Ecological Summit scheduled to be held in Astana, Kazakhstan, in April.
Dr. Musadik Malik welcomed the invitation and emphasised that Pakistan and Kazakhstan share strong historical and cultural ties. He noted that there is much the two countries can learn from one another and underscored the importance of expanding collaboration and trade not only bilaterally but also with the broader Central Asian region.
Both sides discussed the practical implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed during the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Pakistan and explored potential avenues of cooperation and joint projects, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence, financial technology, and electronic governance.
The meeting also included discussions on pressing environmental challenges such as water scarcity and climate change, with a focus on strengthening collaboration in environmental protection and sustainable development.
