Message from Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousuf on the Occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day

Islamabad: February 04, 2026

Every year February 5 is observed as Kashmir Solidarity Day. This day is not only a commemoration but also a renewal of our commitment that the freedom struggle of our oppressed Muslim brothers and sisters in occupied Jammu and Kashmir has the full and unconditional support of Pakistan. This dispute, ongoing since 1947, where India has ignored United Nations resolutions and maintained its occupation of Kashmir, has resulted in the loss of hundreds of thousands of Kashmiri lives and severe violations of human rights. We strongly condemn the barbaric acts by Indian occupying forces, including the use of pellet guns, illegal detentions, enforced disappearances, torture, sexual assaults, and prolonged curfews. These actions are not only violations of international laws but also grave crimes against humanity.

We urge the international community, the United Nations, and human rights organizations to ensure a peaceful and just resolution to the Kashmir issue, as guaranteed in the United Nations resolutions of 1948, which affirm the Kashmiri people's right to self-determination. Pakistan has consistently raised its voice for Kashmir at the diplomatic level, and Government of Pakistan has strongly presented the Kashmir case on international forums such as the OIC, the UN Human Rights Council, and other platforms in recent years.

As the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, I assure that Pakistan will continue to promote religious harmony, interfaith unity, and tolerance, while sustaining moral, diplomatic, political, and humanitarian support for the Kashmiri people. In our country, people from various religions and sects are united in joining the struggle for Kashmir's freedom, and this day reminds us that unity is our strength. On the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, rallies, seminars, prayer gatherings, and awareness campaigns are being organized across Pakistan to inform the world about the situation in Kashmir.

May Allah Almighty grant the Kashmiri people freedom, justice, and peace. The day is not far when Kashmir will become part of Pakistan and oppression will end.
