Federal Minister for Science and Technology Khalid Hussain Magsi warmly received Dr. Khaled el-Enany during his official visit to the Ministry of Science & Technology (MoST) today. The Federal Minister emphasized that this visit comes at a pivotal time when science, policy, and international collaboration are critical for global stability and sustainable development.

Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister Khalid Magsi highlighted Pakistan’s long-standing strategic partnership with UNESCO. “Pakistan does not view its relationship with UNESCO as a mere formality; it is a strategic collaboration that has significantly advanced science and technology in the country,” he said. Through joint initiatives, Pakistan has strengthened internal capacities while actively contributing to the global scientific community.

The Federal Minister also underscored the role of MoST in empowering researchers and policymakers, facilitating knowledge exchange, and fostering scientific growth. Institutions such as the Pakistan Science Foundation and the National Institute of Oceanography are aligned with UNESCO’s mission to harness science for societal well-being. He further noted that, for nearly two decades, Pakistan has successfully organized World Science Day and various national science fairs, inspiring youth and promoting science as a tool for peace and development.

Looking ahead, Federal Minister Magsi shared Pakistan’s vision for result-oriented collaboration with UNESCO. “Our focus is on climate resilience, advancing marine research to support the Blue Economy under the UN Ocean Decade, and promoting non-formal education. We are committed to turning science into solutions,” he said.

The Federal Minister concluded by expressing Pakistan’s eagerness to deepen cooperation with UNESCO, explore new avenues for innovation, and ensure sustainable progress. “We look forward to your support, Excellency, as we work together to achieve practical, impactful outcomes in science and technology,”
