On instructions of the Chairman FBR, Mr. Rashid Mahmood Langrial, and under the supervision of Member Taxpayers’ Services Wing (TPS) Madam Tehmina Aamer, the TPS Wing in collaboration with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), organized an awareness seminar today at Federation House, Karachi.

The seminar focused on apprising stakeholders about the Transformation Plan, structural and technological reforms being undertaken by FBR to broaden the tax base, enhance institutional transparency, strengthen internal accountability mechanisms, and improve the overall efficiency and credibility of the revenue collection system.

Secretary Taxpayers Services Wing, Mr. Abdul Hameed Abro, accompanied by Second Secretary (Media), Mr. Tariq Asad, delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the FBR’s reform agenda. He highlighted key initiatives including Point of Sale (POS) Integration, Track & Trace System, Digital Invoicing, Faceless Customs System, Cargo Tracking System, Direct Port Delivery System, Reward & Rating System, and the deployment of Video Analytics for production monitoring.

The Secretary informed participants that Video Analytics has already been successfully implemented in the sugar and cement sectors and is currently being rolled out in the textile sector. These technology-driven interventions are designed to minimize human discretion, ensure real-time monitoring, and promote transparency and accountability within operational processes. It was emphasized that the adoption of automation, AI and faceless systems has significantly enhanced taxpayer confidence by ensuring uniform application of tax laws, reducing direct interaction and improving governance standards within FBR. These reforms have contributed to strengthening FBR’s perception as a transparent, accountable and taxpayer-friendly organization.

Senior Vice President FPCCI Mr. Saqib Fayyaz, Vice President Mr. Amaan Paracha, Vice President Mr. Asif Sakhi, and Advisor on Tax Matters Mr. Danish Saleem attended the seminar.
