Clarification

Islamabad: January 29, 2026

It was brought to our attention on 28 January,2026, that certain media outlets have been circulating reports regarding the initiation of inquiry by NAB Sukkur into alleged misappropriation of funds in the Sukkur or Guddu Barrage rehabilitation project.

It is unequivocally clarified that no such inquiry or investigation is underway in this matter at NAB Sukkur. A complaint was received, which has been forwarded to the Accountability Facilitation Cell (AFC) at the office of Chief Secretary Sindh for further necessary action in accordance with our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

We will keep the public informed of any development in accordance with our transparency protocols/law.
