The Federal Minister for Board of Investment, H.E. Mr. Qaisar Ahmed Sheikh, delivered a keynote address at the Sustainable Tourism Forum & Expo (STF) 2026, organized by the Islamic Chamber of Commerce & Development (ICCD) in collaboration with FPCCI, at PC Hotel, Karachi.
Addressing policymakers, international investors, business leaders, and global delegates, the Federal Minister underscored that sustainable tourism represents one of Pakistan’s most promising and investment-ready sectors. He highlighted Pakistan’s vast tourism potential, ranging from mountains and coastlines to cultural, spiritual, and heritage destinations.
The Minister stated that the Government of Pakistan is fully committed to transforming tourism potential into sustainable, climate-resilient, and commercially viable investment opportunities that generate economic growth, create employment, empower local communities, and protect natural and cultural assets.
Emphasizing investment as the cornerstone of tourism development, he noted that the government is implementing policy reforms, ease of doing business initiatives, and institutional facilitation to attract responsible local and foreign investment in tourism infrastructure, hospitality, transport, eco-resorts, health and wellness tourism, and digital tourism platforms.
He further highlighted opportunities in public-private partnerships, joint ventures, green investments, halal tourism, cultural and heritage tourism, and the blue economy, aligning tourism development with national priorities such as climate adaptation, SME growth, youth employment, and regional connectivity.
The Federal Minister reaffirmed that Pakistan welcomes investors with a long-term partnership vision, supported by a transparent and protective investment framework that ensures continuity and investor confidence.
During the event, the Minister visited exhibition stalls and interacted with local and international exhibitors. At the conclusion of the forum, FPCCI President Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh presented a commemorative shield to the Federal Minister.
