Minister of State Engr Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman met with the Deputy Education Minister Maldives Azleen Ahmed and his delegation today.

Minister of State welcomed the delegation and said that we are really honored to have them here in Pakistan. Minister of State told the delegation about the education scenario in Pakistan and also about the projects of Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training. Moreover he discussed about the role of Higher Education Commission, TVET Policy, Minimum Standards of Education, Curriculum development, and determination of the government to fulfill the Sustainable Development Goals 4. He also told them about the increase in literacy and enrollment rates, decrease in dropout rate, and increase in provincial education budgets over the period of 2 years. We would love to assist, facilitate and to collaborate with our Maldivians friends, said the Minister.

Deputy Education Minister Azleen Ahmed thanked the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional training for receiving their delegation in Pakistan with great warmth. He said that the Government of Pakistan always supported Maldives in one way or the other, therefore relationship between these two countries is very different from other countries. We are brothers, we will always be there for Pakistan whenever our support is required by them, said Azleen Ahmed. He added that President of Maldives has already extended an invitation to Prime Minister of Pakistan to visit Maldives.

Deputy Minister said that our visit here has been amazing; we are really impressed by the standard of education in Pakistan. An MOU has been signed between Maldives National University and one of the best universities of Pakistan i.e. COMSATS for joint education and research collaboration.   This university is one of its kinds and we are looking forward to our future endeavors. We need assistance in the fields of medicine and engineering from Pakistan, as they seem to be excelling in these areas world over, said Azleen. We believe that Pakistan would become one of the safest countries in the world very soon In Shaa Allah.

In the end, both the ministers thanked each other and exchanged souvenirs and gifts.

Meeting was attended by the Federal Secretary Humanyun Khan, Joint Education Advisor rafiq Tahir, Director General Higher Education Maldives Fatimath Amira, Dr. Latheef Chancellor National University Maldives, Dr. Fawaz Vice Chancellor Maldives National University, and Dr. S.M.  Junaid Zaidi Rector COMSATS, and other officials.
