Minister of State for Finance and Railways, Bilal Azhar Kayani, said today that the public service initiatives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif have successfully transitioned from vision to reality. During a visit to his constituency in Jhelum, the Minister personally inspected the impact of several flagship projects, emphasizing the government’s commitment to providing modern, affordable facilities to the general public. As part of his visit, Mr. Kayani traveled on a new electric bus alongside local citizens, highlighting the transition toward eco-friendly and cost-effective urban transport.
During a detailed inspection of the DHQ Hospital Jhelum, the Minister reviewed the operations of Punjab’s first district-level Cath Lab, which now provides free, state-of-the-art cardiac care locally. Addressing the media, Mr. Kayani announced significant infrastructure milestones, including the scheduled completion of the 124-kilometer Lilla-Jhelum Road by June 2026, the approval of a comprehensive mega-sewerage project, and the construction of a world-class hockey ground. These initiatives, he noted, represent a holistic approach to improving healthcare, connectivity, and sports facilities for the people of Jhelum.
