MCMC Participants Visit Federal Board of Revenue

Participants of the 45th Mid-Career Management Course (MCMC) of the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA), Karachi, visited the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Headquarters as part of their Inland Study Tour.

During a meeting chaired by the Member Taxpayers’ Services (TPS) Wing, Ms. Tehmina Aamer, the participants were briefed on FBR’s ongoing reform agenda. The Member highlighted FBR’s key initiatives focusing on revenue mobilization, transparency, digital transformation and enhanced taxpayer facilitation.

Ms. Tehmina Aamer urged the participants to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, public service, and play their due role as civil servants in strengthening institutions and serving the nation.

Representing Inland Revenue Service Mr. Shafqat Rasool Sandhu, Secretary Inland Revenue Operations, along with Dr. Najeebullah, Chief of the Transfer Delivery Unit (TDU), gave detailed presentations on FBR’s revenue collection strategies and change management reforms. The session was followed by an interactive discussion, during which the participants actively engaged and raised pertinent questions.

Representing Pakistan Customs, Dr. Farid Salarzai apprised the participants of customs-related revenue collection measures and institutional reforms, generating further discussion and interest among the visiting officers.

At the conclusion of the visit, the faculty of NIPA Karachi expressed their appreciation to the FBR management for a productive briefing. Commemorative shields were also exchanged as a gesture of mutual goodwill.

The NIPA faculty and the participants termed the visit highly successful which provided valuable insight to the participants into the role of the Federal Board of Revenue in fiscal governance, institutional reforms, and public sector modernization.
