An event was organized in the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony in connection with Christmas. Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf and State Minister Kheeal Das Kohistani attended the event. The Federal Minister cut the Christmas cake along with prominent members of the Christian community and extended greetings to them.
Federal Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousaf extended Christmas greetings to the Christian community in Pakistan and around the world. In his address Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousaf stayed that the teachings of all religions are based on love, compassion, peace, and tolerance, serving which also serves as a guiding light for us. The diversity of religions and cultures is a source of strength for Pakistan. The Christian community has always played a prominent role in Pakistan's social, societal, and economic development. In accordance with the Constitution, minorities in Pakistan enjoy all political, economic, and social rights.
Federal Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousaf further stated that the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, in his historic speech on August 11, 1947, declared that everyone shall have equal rights, privileges, and responsibilities without distinction of color, race, or religion, and that the new state of Pakistan shall ensure complete religious freedom. The services of minorities in Pakistan in the judiciary, armed forces, education, health, and all other sectors are unforgettable. Representation of minorities exists in all provinces and the federal cabinet.
Pakistan Muslim League-N is the only political party that has ensured the protection of the rights of minority communities, particularly the Christian community, and guaranteed their personal and social freedoms. This year as well, the Christmas festival is being celebrated at the official level in Pakistan. The Ministry of Religious Affairs is taking measures for the protection and restoration of minorities' places of worship and historical heritage. Sardar Muhammad Yousaf also distributed gifts among the members of the Christian community attending the event.
