Continuing his support for women's empowerment through entrepreneurship, Chairperson IPO Ambassador Farukh Amil held a detailed interactive session on Intellectual Property with women business leaders at the Womens Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Peshawar. The Womens Chamber was represented by President Ms. Quratulain, Senior Vice President Ms. Zara Imtiaz Vice President Ms. Zareen Akhtar. Numerous business women were present from various industries, including food & agriculture; gemstones; textiles; human resource development; catering etc.
The focus was on knowing ones IP Rights and following the procedures to secure IP protection of logos, designs and patents etc. The women business leaders were requested to become IP Awareness multipliers. They were requested to take full advantage of IPO-Pakistan's Women Entrepreneurs helpline and the numerous online training opportunities provided by WIPO in Geneva that followed robust women's empowerment strategies and knowledge sharing. It was also agreed to have follow up training sessions in Peshawar by senior technical IPO professionals at the earliest.
