Parliamentary Secretary expresses grief over Dr. Warda’s murder, assures transparent investigation and swift justice

Abbottabad: December 10, 2025

Parliamentary Secretary for Human Rights Saba Sadiq and Member of the National Assembly Dr. Shaista Jadoon visited the home of the slain Dr. Warda in Abbottabad. They met the bereaved family, offered condolences, and conveyed the special instructions issued by Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif regarding the case.

Speaking to the media, Saba Sadiq said that Dr. Warda was not only the daughter of Abbottabad and Hazara, but of the entire nation. She was a mother and a dedicated medical professional. The brutal manner in which she was murdered has deeply saddened the whole country. She added that the Prime Minister has taken special notice of the incident, and she has arrived as a representative of the federal government to ensure that justice is delivered without delay.

She stated that a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has been formed to conduct a complete and impartial investigation, which will submit its findings as soon as possible. Several suspects are already in police custody, while the main accused is still at large. However, efforts to arrest him have been intensified.

Saba Sadiq emphasized that no perpetrator will escape the law. She said she is in continuous contact with the Bar Council, the Prosecution Department, and other relevant institutions to ensure strong legal follow-up of the case.

She stressed that no legal loophole will be tolerated — no accused person will be allowed to exploit the system, nor will anyone be able to use influence or money to evade accountability.

After a detailed meeting with the family, she said all their concerns have been noted, and they have been assured that every avenue of justice remains open to them.

Criticizing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf provincial government for poor governance, she said this issue is humanitarian, not political. Incidents like this occur when effective governance is missing. People do not need political slogans — they need protection of their lives and their families.

She called on the provincial government and the local administration to urgently improve law and order, strengthen institutions, and take meaningful steps to protect women.

Saba Sadiq also visited the hospital where Dr. Warda worked and met the staff. She noted that the doctors and colleagues have shown courage and are actively raising their voices to seek justice for their fellow doctor.

In her concluding remarks, Saba Sadiq said that the entire government stands with the grieving family. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is personally monitoring the case. Ensuring that the culprits receive the strictest punishment under the law is our responsibility — and justice will be delivered.
