Expressing solidarity with the Pakistan Armed Forces and paying tribute to the Chief of Defence Forces and Field Marshal Hafiz Syed Asim Munir, President Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party and Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan said that the nation has not forgotten the Indian attack on 10 May and the Pakistan Army’s exemplary response. He said that “no one should remain under any misconception; the enemy has never accepted our independent identity.” He added that Pakistan’s armed forces have given the country the strength to face any challenge with confidence.
Referring to online criticism, Abdul Aleem Khan said that making irresponsible comments on social media is easy, but those who spread propaganda should first send their own children to guard the borders. He highlighted the sacrifices of the martyrs’ families and said that those who malign national institutions should be ashamed. He reiterated that the events of 10 May demonstrated how the enemy was forced to retreat, and the world witnessed this. According to him, “it is unprecedented that seven enemy aircraft were downed without the loss of a single Pakistani aircraft this was due to the blessings of Allah and the bravery of our soldiers.”
Abdul Aleem Khan said that the Pakistan Army has significantly enhanced the country’s global image, enabling every Pakistani to hold their head high. He stressed that hostile narratives against the country must not be tolerated, he urged people never to support individuals who speak against national institutions. During the convention in Faisalabad Federal Minister proposed the creation of new provinces, suggesting that Punjab be administratively divided into four units, with “Western Punjab” having Faisalabad as its headquarters. He said that all four provinces should be reorganized on administrative grounds to reduce public hardship.
Quoting international examples, he noted that the United States, with a population of 340 million, has 50 states; Russia, with 140 million people, has 85 regions; Azerbaijan has 60 provinces for 11 million citizens; Afghanistan has 34 provinces for 40 million people; Egypt has 27 provinces for 120 million people; Turkey has 81 provinces for 85 million; Japan has 47 for 12 million; and Iran has 31 for 85 million. He said that proposals will be placed before all chief ministers to address administrative challenges for the public. Abdul Aleem Khan also announced key road development projects for Faisalabad, including the expansion of the Pindi Bhattian–Faisalabad highway from two to three lanes and the construction of the Faisalabad–Gatwala–Lahore road. He appreciated the services of former provincial minister and Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party West President Chaudhry Zahoor-ud-Din and assured full cooperation.
The event was attended by former MPA Akhtar Ali Chaudhry, local leadership, and a large number of citizens. President Punjab Rana Nazir Ahmad Khan, Central General Secretary Mian Khalid Mahmood, Central Information Secretary Syed Samsam Ali Bukhari, Punjab General Secretary and MPA Shoaib Siddiqui, former MPA Haroon Akram Gill, and party workers participated enthusiastically, expressing strong support for the Pakistan Army and the military leadership.
