Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephonic Call with the President of Indonesia H.E. Prabowo Subianto

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephonic call today with the President of Indonesia, H.E. Prabowo Subianto.

On behalf of Government and people of Pakistan, the Prime Minister extended heartfelt condolences and profound sympathy to the people and Government of Indonesia over the tragic loss of precious lives and widespread devastation caused by recent floods and landslides across Indonesia, particularly in Sumatra.

While expressing full solidarity with Indonesia, the Prime Minister assured the Indonesion President that Pakistan is ready to extend all possible relief and humanitarian assistance, including sharing of Pakistan’s own experience in managing large-scale flood emergencies, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts.

The Prime Minister, during the call, highlighted the shared vulnerability of both countries before the impacts of climate-induced disasters, and stressed the importance of enhanced cooperation in disaster preparedness, response and climate resilience.

President of Indonesia H.E Prabowo Subianto thanked the Prime Minister for the expression of condolences and solidarity. Indonesian President shared with the Prime Minister that the Indonesian authorities had responded swiftly and effectively to deal with this catastrophe.

The Prime Minister further said that he is looking forward to welcome the Indonesian President to Pakistan, for the scheduled official visit next week. PM said that the visit would offer, the leaders of both countries, a valuable opportunity to further strengthen bilateral diplomatic ties and cooperation across all areas of mutual interest.
