Message from the Federal Minister for Human Rights, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar on International Day of Elimination of Violence Against Women 25th November and on the start of16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (25 Nov – 10 Dec 2025)

"As we mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and begin the 16 Days of Activism, Pakistan reaffirms its unwavering commitment to ending all forms of violence against women and girls. Gender-based violence undermines dignity, equality and meaningful participation and addressing it demands sustained national focus and collective action across communities, institutions and sectors.

In today’s digital era, this responsibility extends to online spaces as well. Digital harassment and abuse pose serious barriers to women’s safe participation in social, economic, and public life. Ensuring secure, respectful and accountable digital environments is an essential part of protecting women’s rights.

The Government of Pakistan remains committed to strengthening legal safeguards, enhancing survivor support and coordinating closely with all partners. Together, we must build a Pakistan where every woman and girl can live free from violence and achieve her full potential."
