The Ambassador-designate of Pakistan to Japan, Mr. Abdul Hameed, addressed the inaugural meeting of Japan Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship League on 21 November 2025. He was specially invited by Mr. Seiji Maehara, Member House of Representatives, Chairman Japan-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship League, to attend the event.
Mr. Seiji Maehara appreciated the upward trajectory of Pakistan Japan cooperation. He made special reference to his participation in Pakistan's National Day event at Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025. In his remarks, the Ambassador expressed satisfaction that Japan Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship League has been revived now. He highlighted that the long-standing Pakistan-Japan relations were rooted in peace, development cooperation and common commitment to prosperity. The bilateral relationship was further strengthened through parliamentary diplomacy and six institutional mechanisms that facilitated collaboration in multiple areas.
The event concluded with the mutual commitment to expand the current scope of bilateral relations.
