In a significant breakthrough, Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Peshawar's officials in Dera Ismail Khan have intercepted a major smuggling attempt confiscating goods worth over PKR 51 million. The operation conducted on Wednesday led to the seizure of a truck (Reg. No. P-4234) carrying smuggled foreign-origin cigarettes, polyester cloth rolls, and betel nuts.
The truck, en route from Quetta to Rawalpindi, was stopped near Waziristan Chowk by the Quick Response Force (QRF) team. The swift action resulted in the recovery of the smuggled items and seizure of the vehicle under the Pakistan Customs Act, 1969.
FBR has commended the vigilance and teamwork of the Customs officers involved in the operation, reaffirming its commitment to curbing smuggling activities and protecting national revenue. This successful operation underscores the FBR's resolve to combat illicit trade and ensure compliance with customs regulations.
