Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of renowned scholar, writer, and Senator Irfan Siddiqui.
In his condolence message, the Minister said that Irfan Siddiqui’s passing is an irreparable loss to the literary, intellectual, and cultural world. He described Siddiqui as a beacon of knowledge and literature and a guardian of Pakistan’s intellectual and cultural legacy, who always provided valuable guidance for the promotion of culture and heritage.
Aurangzeb Khichi acknowledged that during the challenges of downsizing cultural institutions, Irfan Siddiqui’s valuable guidance and support played a crucial role and will always be remembered. He added that Siddiqui made a practical contribution to the strengthening and development of national cultural institutions, and the Ministry of Culture greatly benefited from his insight and wisdom.
The Minister further stated that Irfan Siddiqui made literature an integral part of national identity, and his writings will remain a source of pride and inspiration for future generations. His literary contributions to Urdu prose, column writing, and intellectual discourse will be remembered in golden words.
Extending his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, Aurangzeb Khichi prayed that Almighty Allah grant the departed soul a high place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and give strength and patience to the family to bear this great loss.
