Federal Minister Dr. Musadik Malik Chairs First Meeting of Prime Minister’s Committee for Revival of Film and Cinema

Islamabad: November 7, 2025

Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr. Musadik Malik, chaired the first meeting of the Prime Minister’s Committee for the Revival of Film and Cinema in Islamabad today.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Division, Mr. Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Culture and Heritage, Mr. Huzaifa Rehman, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training.

The session focused on reviewing the existing institutional and regulatory frameworks related to film production, distribution, and exhibition in Pakistan. Participants discussed measures to strengthen coordination among relevant ministries and stakeholders to facilitate the sustainable growth and revival of the national film industry.

Dr. Musadik Malik underscored the importance of revitalizing Pakistan’s cinema as a means of cultural expression, creative economy, and national storytelling. He emphasized the need to align policies with emerging global trends by encouraging the use of digital platforms, supporting indigenous content creation, and promoting films that project Pakistan’s diverse identity on the world stage.
