The Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Karachi, on Friday seized over 42,200 litters of smuggled Iranian diesel worth over Rs. 12 million in a successful operation against the illegal storage and sale of smuggled Iranian diesel along the Northern Bypass, Karachi.
Acting on credible intelligence, Customs teams launched a coordinated operation under the supervision of senior officers during early hours to prevent the movement of contraband to some safe location. Several concealed tanks and makeshift facilities were discovered, leading to the recovery of approximately 42,200 litters of Iranian diesel, valued at over Rs. 12.0 million. The seized fuel has been transferred to the Caspian State Warehouse, Korangi, for safe custody.
This operation highlights FBR’s firm resolve to curb the smuggling of petroleum products, which causes heavy losses to the national exchequer and undermines legitimate trade. FBR reiterated its commitment to maintaining a zero-tolerance policy against smuggling, ensuring strict enforcement across the country to protect and promote lawful businesses and national revenue.
