Federal Minister for Board of Investment, Mr. Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, addressed a high-level environmental conference where he emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering sustainable and climate-smart investment across Pakistan

The Minister stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan is moving steadily on the path of economic growth and stability. He remarked that economic stability is only possible through increased investment and export led growth, adding that attracting foreign direct investment remains a key focus of the government.
Mr. Sheikh underlined that sustainable and environment-friendly investment is vital for Pakistan’s economic future. “The new trend in Pakistan’s investment landscape is shifting towards environmental sustainability,” he said, adding that the government is providing a conducive environment to facilitate investors in green and responsible business sectors.
He noted that global investment is now transitioning towards low-carbon and eco-friendly projects, and Pakistan must align itself with this trend to ensure long-term competitiveness. He highlighted that Pakistan holds vast potential in renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and green manufacturing sectors.
The Minister reaffirmed that the Board of Investment (BOI), under his leadership, is fully committed to promoting sustainable investment and strengthening public–private partnerships for green economic growth. “Despite challenges, we have maintained the momentum of development, and the government is actively working to support and incentivize green investors,” he said.
Mr. Sheikh also appreciated the role of businesses, startups, and universities in advancing sustainable development models, emphasizing that such initiatives contribute positively to both the economy and the environment.
He concluded by reaffirming that Pakistan has the potential to emerge as a regional leader in sustainable industries, and that the Board of Investment remains dedicated to achieving this vision under his leadership.
