Kashmir Black Day observed at the Embassy of Pakistan Paris

A special event was organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in France to express solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of Kashmir Black Day.

The event highlighted the decades long freedom movement of the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination in accordance with the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir. A documentary dedicated to the struggle of the Kashmiri people and the atrocities of the Indian occupation forces in IIOJK was screened on the occasion.

Participants included prominent Kashmiris and civil society representatives. They condemned the gross violations of human rights and international humanitarian law being committed by the Indian occupation forces in IIOJK. They called on the international human rights organizations and the media to highlight the situation of human rights in IIOJK and for full implementation of UNSC resolutions in Jammu & Kashmir.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch noted that on the Kashmir Black Day, the people of Pakistan around the world express their solidarity with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters. She outlined the long history of Indian violations of international law and disregard for the UN Charter and UNSC resolutions. She said that the Kashmiri peoples’ right to self-determination was enshrined in international law and guaranteed by UNSC resolutions which specified that this right would be exercised through a free and impartial plebiscite to be held under the auspices of the United Nations. Ambassador Baloch emphasized that Pakistan would continue to extend political and diplomatic support to Kashmiri people for the realization of their right of self-determination.
