The Federal Minister for Energy (Petroleum Division), Ali Pervaiz Malik, held a series of high-level meetings on the sidelines of the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) 2025.
Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik held a productive meeting with Eng. Khalid Al-Mudaifer, Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik appreciated the longstanding friendship and unwavering support of Saudi Arabia. He invited Saudi businessmen to invest in Pakistan.
Ali Pervaiz Malik also met Ms. Diana Janse, State Secretary for International Development and Cooperation of Sweden, to discuss avenues of mutual cooperation and potential investment in Pakistan’s minerals sector. Both sides expressed their intent to further deepen collaboration in the mining and resources sectors.
In another engagement, Ali Pervaiz Malik met Hon. Benjamin Gallezot, Interministerial Delegate for Strategic Minerals and Metals Supply at the Prime Minister’s Office, France. Discussions focused on technological cooperation and the integration of advanced tools such as data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) in the mining and minerals industry. Both sides agreed to explore joint initiatives aimed at promoting innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in resource development.
Ali Pervaiz Malik also invited them to participate in the upcoming Pakistan Mineral Investment Forum scheduled to be held next year.
Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, met with members of the Pakistani business community at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Sydney on the sidelines of the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) 2025. The meeting was also attended by Pakistan's High Commissioner Irfan Shaukat, and Consul General & Trade Commissioner Qamar Zaman.
The Minister appreciated the vital role of overseas Pakistanis in strengthening Pakistan’s economy and promoting trade and investment linkages with Australia. He highlighted the Government’s ongoing reforms to enhance ease of doing business and attract investment in key sectors, particularly energy and minerals.
Hon. Ali Pervaiz Malik briefed participants on Pakistan’s emerging potential in mining, critical minerals, and renewable energy, encouraging diaspora entrepreneurs to explore new opportunities in these areas.
Members of the business community lauded the Government’s efforts to promote sustainable economic growth and reaffirmed their commitment to contribute to Pakistan’s development through investment and partnerships.
Mr Naveed Naqvi, Operation Manager, World Bank for Pacific Region called on the Hon Ali Pervaiz Malik, Minister of Energy in Consulate General of Pakistan, Sydney and briefed him on the initiatives of World Bank in the Pacific Region.
Minister apprised him on the reform’s agenda pursued by the Government of Pakistan and subsequent stabilization of the economy which has also been validated by improvement in the credit ratings of Pakistan.
