The Regional Transport Ministers’ Conference 2025 will commence in Islamabad today, Prime Minister of Pakistan will inaugurate the opening session as Chief Guest. This two-day International Conference, scheduled for October 23–24, will be held at the Jinnah Convention Centre bringing together Transport Ministers from various countries and representatives of international organizations. Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan visited the Jinnah Convention Centre to review and finalize arrangements for the event, issuing necessary directives to the concerned authorities. He stated that hosting this significant regional forum is an honor for Pakistan and expressed confidence that the conference would serve as a milestone in promoting sustainable transport cooperation across the region. Transport Ministers from Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Iran, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives among others will participate in the Conference. In addition, delegates from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), International Road Transport Union (IRU), and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) will also attend. The Conference will feature various sessions and panel discussions focused on regional connectivity, trade corridors, transport infrastructure and sustainable development. A special transport and infrastructure expo will also be organized on October 25–26, open to the public, showcasing country pavilions, institutional exhibits, modern transport systems, research initiatives and development projects. Federal Ministers for Railways, Commerce, Maritime Affairs, and Planning along with other relevant officials will also attend the high-profile international event. The closing session of the Regional Transport Ministers’ Conference 2025 will take place on October 24 with the Deputy Prime Minister as the Chief Guest.
