Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, Parliamentary Secretary for Information & Broadcasting, attended the launch of the book “Jammu and Kashmir - The Forgotten Narrative” today at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI).
The event, organised by the India Study Centre (ISC) at ISSI to launch the book authored by Mr. Saud Sultan, was also graced by Ambassador Masood Khan, Former President of the State of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, as the Guest of Honour.
In his address, Barrister Chaudhry commended the author for his vital contribution in bringing the forgotten narrative of Jammu and Kashmir to the forefront. He emphasized that such scholarly works are crucial for preserving historical truth and fostering a nuanced understanding of one of the most critical issues in the region.
“This book, 'Jammu and Kashmir - The Forgotten Narrative,' serves as an essential antidote to the historical amnesia imposed on the struggle of the Kashmiri people,” stated Barrister Chaudhry. “It is through such rigorous research and the courageous exchange of ideas that we can counter disinformation and build a resilient, fact-based national narrative on Kashmir.”
The Parliamentary Secretary highlighted the government's commitment to promoting intellectual freedom and ensuring that the just voice of the Kashmiri people is amplified on all platforms. He praised ISSI and its India Study Centre for their consistent efforts in providing a platform for meaningful dialogue on issues of paramount national importance.
