In a major crackdown on illicit trade, the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Peshawar, on the special directions of the Chief Collector of Customs (Enforcement), has foiled multiple attempts to smuggle foreign-origin cigarettes.
During the first three months of FY 2025–26, Customs teams seized 18,275,100 sticks of smuggled cigarettes worth Rs. 154.90 million. This is a sharp rise from 14,114,400 sticks valued at Rs. 97.04 million seized during the same period last year, showing a 60% increase in value.
This successful campaign reflects Pakistan Customs’ strong commitment to curbing smuggling, protecting legitimate businesses, and safeguarding the national revenue.
