Federal Minister for Science and Technology Khalid Hussain Magsi attended the NUST Convocation 2025 as Chief Guest and congratulated the graduating students, faculty, and parents on their achievements.
In his address, the Federal Minister praised the hard work and dedication of the graduates and appreciated NUST for providing an environment where excellence is a culture. He said the future of Pakistan lies in the hands of young and visionary individuals who will lead with integrity and purpose.
He encouraged the students to stay focused, keep learning, and turn their words into meaningful action. Speaking about women’s role in development, he said only 16% of Pakistani women pursue STEM careers, while NUST has 30% female graduates. He emphasized that Pakistan can progress only when women remain active in the workforce. Quoting Fatima Jinnah, he said, “No nation can rise to the height of glory unless its women are side by side with men.”
The Federal Minister said Pakistan is now progressing, but sustainable development is only possible with the contribution of every segment of society. He called on the youth to serve with honesty and dedication, as the real strength of a nation lies in the character and unity of its people.
In conclusion, he urged the graduates to believe in themselves, in Allah, and in Pakistan. “Our founders once dreamed this nation into existence. It is now your turn to take it forward with conviction, compassion, and courage,” he said.
