Mr. Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, Federal Minister for National Heritage & Culture Division,
Government of Pakistan and Mr. Chen Peng, Cultural Counselor from National Cultural Heritage
Administration of the People’s Republic of China have signed an agreement on strengthening
exchanges and cooperation in the field of cultural heritage.
The agreement aims to deepen bilateral collaboration, enhance mutual understanding
and friendship between the people of Pakistan and China, and further consolidate their long-
standing ties. Through friendly consultations, both sides have reaffirmed their shared
commitment to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of their respective nations.
According to Agreement between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and
the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on Preventing Theft, Clandestine
Excavation, and Illicit Import and Export of Cultural Property signed in 2022, the two countries
are agreed to encourage and support joint efforts to combat illicit trafficking of cultural property.
This cooperation will contribute to safeguard the cultural heritage of all humanity and strengthen
global heritage protection efforts.
The partnership reflects the continued dedication of both nations to cultural diplomacy
and mutual respect for each other’s rich historical legacies.
