Dubai: October 16, 2025

The Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce, Mr. Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, represented the Government of Pakistan at GITEX Global 2025, one of the world’s leading technology exhibitions, highlighting Pakistan’s rapid digital transformation and expanding role in the global IT ecosystem.

Addressing the audience at the Pakistan Pavilion, the Coordinator to Prime Minister mentioned that Pakistan’s IT exports have grown at an average annual rate of 20% over the past five years, reaching USD 3.8 billion in FY 2024–25. He emphasized that this achievement reflects Pakistan’s evolution into a competitive and innovative digital economy. He noted that Pakistan ranks among the top five freelance economies worldwide and possesses one of the largest youth-driven digital talent pools, with nearly two-thirds of its population under 30. “Our tech professionals are delivering cutting-edge digital solutions to clients across the globe,” he stated.

This year’s participation marks a collaborative initiative between the Ministry of Commerce (through TDAP) and the Ministry of IT & Telecommunication (through PSEB and Ignite Technology Fund). The Pakistan Pavilion features 26 leading IT companies and 10 startups showcasing at North Star Dubai. Mr. Khan also announced the upcoming PIXS Expo 2026 in Lahore—Pakistan’s first international technology exhibition of its kind—and highlighted the success of the GLOBE Summit 2025, which convened top global e-commerce players, including representatives from Alibaba.

“Our message to the world is clear: Pakistan is open for innovation, open for investment, and open for collaboration,” The Coordinator affirmed, inviting international investors and partners to explore opportunities in Pakistan’s thriving tech ecosystem.

The Pakistan Pavilion at GITEX Global 2025 stands as a testament to the country’s growing digital capabilities and commitment to building international partnerships in technology, innovation, and investment. The Coordinator commended TDAP, PSEB, Ignite, and the Trade Office in Dubai for organizing Pakistan's successful participation. He urged exhibitors to serve as digital ambassadors, building partnerships to showcase Pakistan's technological capabilities. The address concluded with a vision for a globally competitive and innovative Digital Pakistan.
