“Pakistan Night” Highlights Opportunities for Growth in Pakistan’s IT Sector

Dubai: October 14, 2025

The Pakistan Mission to the United Arab Emirates, in collaboration with the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), successfully hosted “Pakistan Night”, a high-profile networking event showcasing Pakistan’s digital potential and fostering partnerships between Pakistani tech companies and the global innovation ecosystem.

The event was graced by Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication, as Chief Guest, and attended by Mr. Rana Ihsan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce; Dr. Sohail Munir, Chairman Pakistan Digital Authority; Mr. Sajjad Mustafa Syed, Chairman P@SHA; H.E. Hussain Muhammad, Consul General of Pakistan, Dubai; and Brigadier Syed Nadir Hussain Shah from the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). Senior diplomats, Emirati officials, representatives from the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, business councils, and exhibitors from GITEX Global 2025 also participated.

In his welcome remarks, Mr. Ali Zeb Khan, Trade Counsellor, emphasized the importance of such engagements in promoting Pakistan’s IT exports and positioning the country as a competitive digital hub.

Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Envoy to the UAE, highlighted Pakistan’s potential to increase IT exports from USD 4 billion to USD 100 billion through innovation, investment, and global collaboration. He appreciated the Ministry of IT’s initiatives in driving digital transformation and enhancing Pakistan’s visibility in international markets.

Mr. Rana Ihsan Afzal Khan underlined that Pakistan’s IT sector remains the country’s fastest-growing industry, recording an average annual growth rate of 20%.

Delivering the keynote address, Federal Minister Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the IT industry in key areas such as AI, cybersecurity, software development, and data processing. She noted that initiatives like Ignite have been instrumental in enabling startups to access global opportunities.

The Minister lauded Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi for his dedicated efforts in strengthening Pakistan-UAE relations and promoting Pakistan’s economic and technological interests during his tenure.
