The Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce, Mr. Ihsaan Afzal Khan, called on the Adviser for Commerce, Sk. Bashir Uddin, in Islamabad to discuss strengthening Pakistan’s trade and commercial ties.
Mr. Khan was accompanied by the High Commission for Pakistan’s Charge d’Affaires (a.i.), Mr. Muhammad Wasif, and Trade and Investment Attaché Mr. Zain Aziz. The Adviser for Commerce was joined by the Secretary Commerce, Mr. Mahbubur Rahman, along with senior officials from the Ministry.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on expanding areas of mutual commercial interest. Discussions covered potential collaboration in intermediate industrial goods, pharmaceuticals, and construction aggregates. The two delegations also emphasized the importance of exchange visits, business-to-business linkages, and the continuation of trade-related talks to unlock new opportunities.
The Adviser welcomed the initiatives and underscored the government’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for enhanced trade and investment. Both parties agreed to maintain close coordination to translate these discussions into tangible outcomes for the benefit of the economies and business communities of both sides.
