In a significant move to strengthen youth empowerment and promote economic growth, the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Mobilink Microfinance Bank. The meeting, which took place at the Prime Minister’s Office, was chaired by Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of PMYP. Also present at the meeting were Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, CEO of Mobilink Microfinance Bank, and officers from both sides. This collaboration aims to empower youth and women across Pakistan by fostering entrepreneurship, enhancing financial and digital literacy, and creating inclusive economic opportunities. The partnership will focus on building the capacity of young people, particularly women, in key areas such as entrepreneurship, freelancing, financial inclusion, and sustainable business practices.
The initiative will support youth-led businesses by providing entrepreneurship training, mentorship, and access to seed funding. Through this collaboration, both organizations aim to promote responsible, innovative, and environmentally sustainable business practices. Moreover, structured networking between aspiring entrepreneurs, investors, and mentors will strengthen Pakistan’s growing start-up ecosystem. In addition, PMYP and Mobilink Microfinance Bank will provide youth with the skills needed to thrive in freelancing and digital work opportunities. Special programs will be designed to help youth, especially women, develop skills in technology, design, content creation, and digital marketing, enabling them to access global digital platforms and build sustainable careers in the gig economy.
A key area of focus for the collaboration will be financial inclusion, leveraging Mobilink Microfinance Bank’s digital banking ecosystem to extend financial services such as digital wallets, micro-loans, insurance products, and payment solutions to underserved youth and women entrepreneurs. Alongside this, both organizations will design and execute financial literacy programs to empower young individuals, particularly women, with the knowledge needed to manage finances, build savings, and pursue entrepreneurial ventures. The partnership will also work to reduce gender-based barriers to financial access, advocating for inclusive economic participation policies.
Special attention will be given to women entrepreneurs, with a focus on identifying, mentoring, and financing female-led businesses that promote sustainable development and climate resilience. These programs will also provide training on eco-friendly business practices, green technologies, and circular economy principles to ensure that women-led enterprises contribute to environmental sustainability.
Mobilink Microfinance Bank will also support activities under PMYP's 4Es framework—Empowerment, Education, Employment, and Entrepreneurship—ensuring that the youth of Pakistan have access to the tools and opportunities they need to succeed in today’s digital economy. Through this collaboration, both organizations aim to create a more inclusive, innovative, and sustainable ecosystem that will contribute to long-term economic growth in Pakistan.
